Still

Still is an Android app that helps you keep DMs, Home, stories, and posting — and step away from endless Reels / Shorts / FYP. It runs only on your phone. This first public build is free. It is not made by Instagram, Meta, Google, TikTok, or Play Protect.

The signed free APK is not published yet (target by mid‑October 2026). This page is live so the domain works; the download button will unlock when the release file and SHA‑256 fingerprints are ready.

Accessibility permission

Still uses Android’s Accessibility permission so it can notice short-form screens and nudge you away.

While Still is on, it can see the on-screen layout of Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok (including text that is visible on those screens — for example DM chrome when a chat screen is open). Still is built so that screen content does not leave your device: the free APK has no internet permission, and we do not upload DMs or feed text to our servers.

Only turn Accessibility on if you trust this download. You can turn Still off anytime (see below).

Sideload / malware warning

This app is installed from our website, not from Google Play (for now). That means you must allow installs from your browser or Files app (“unknown apps”).

Risk: any sideloaded app can be dangerous if it comes from the wrong place. Download only from this official Still page. Prefer checking the SHA‑256 fingerprints below before you install. After install, you can turn off “install unknown apps” for that source again.

Optional check on a computer with Android build-tools: apksigner verify --print-certs still.apk and match Signer #1 certificate SHA‑256 digest to the certificate line above.

Install steps

  1. Download the APK from this page (when available).
  2. Open the file → allow install from this source if Android asks.
  3. Open Still → follow the in-app screen → enable Accessibility for Still when prompted.
  4. Keep DMs and Home usable; Still is meant to interrupt endless short-form feeds.

How to turn Still off

Settings → Accessibility → Still → Off.
Or uninstall Still. You are always in control.
